Betting Apps For Android
Android betting apps can be found on the Google Play store and you can check out the latest reviews their to see what other users think compared to our ratings. We’ve used all the apps mentioned above on a Samsung phone to see how they perform compared to the other apps.
As an Android user, you can also install the mobile site as a web app which saves space in your phone and never needs updating. We think this the optimum way to bet on Android for simplicity.
Betting Apps For iOS (iPhone & iPad)
If you have an iOS device such as an iPad or iPhone, downloading the best betting apps is so easy it’s unbelievable. Unlike Android users, iOS has a large number of the top rated betting apps available on the iTunes App Store.
All you need to do before downloading the app is to make sure you register an account with the bookmaker beforehand. Then once downloaded, you can enjoy all there is to offer.
The bookmakers the provide betting apps for both Android and iOS also provide very generous welcome bonuses too. Some offer no deposit bonuses which simply means, upon registering, you’ll receive a bonus risk-free bet. Whereas others provide matched deposit bonuses, sometimes accompanied with additional bonuses too.
Payment options on UK betting apps
In the UK there are lots of options for payments and these vary depending on the bookmaker so it’s always worth checking if you want to use a more alternative method such as Skrill or Neteller. Fees also may apply depending on the payment option such as charges for using PayPal on some apps or charges for using a credit card to deposit.
General depositing options –
- Debit card – Generally does not incur a fee
- Credit card – Usually has a fee per transaction or as a % of the total deposit
- PayPal – Accepted by most bookies without a fee, some offer a fast registration through your PayPal account.
- Apple Pay – Now integrated into most major UK iPhone and iPad betting apps
- Skrill & Neteller – Accepted by most fee free- usually instant
- Fast Bank transfer – Usually free, although payments can take up to 3 days
- Cheque – Yes really! Some UK bookies will still allow you to send them a cheque to deposit into your account. This can take between 5 and 28 days to clear – I have no idea why you’d want to do this!
Hopefully the information you have found on the subject of our betting app ratings helpful. All apps come from bookies who are registered with the gambling commission in the UK.

Top 3 Racecourse Apps
There are some fantastic racecourses in the United Kingdom and there are some mobile racecourse apps that really manage to showcase them superbly. We have reviewed some of the best of them you’ll find them listed on the table below.
Stats App Overview
Stats and form – Racing Post
In horse racing, the Racing Post is recognised as an authority in all aspects of horse racing. Whether it’s finding out the latest news for daily race meets, the odds for a particular horse or general information about jockeys, trainers and horse breeders, the Racing Post has always been one of the first places people would look to find out this information.
What’s great is that the Racing Post app also gives you all of this information in the palm of your hand. Which is why we and many others regard it as the best horse racing apps available in the iTunes App store. You can download the android version straight from the racing post site here.
The racing post app now has inbuilt betting from all major UK and Irish horse racing from 4 major bookies. You can grab up to £150 in bonuses on the app if you are not already a customer of any of them. The app has full streaming of UK & Irish racing and you can watch any race you like as long as you’ve had a bet of at least £1 on it – this includes any multiple bets where each leg is more than £1 (ie a £5 5-fold will let you watch all 5 races, a £2.50 5-fold would not).
Stats and form – Racing UK
The Racing UK app is available free on iPhone, iPad, Android and can be downloaded on mobiles and tablets. This is a really slick horse racing app where you can see the day’s race cards from around the world and watch the races with the bet and watch feature (powered by William Hill, see below for a free bet). The sheer amount of horse racing content on this app is truly incredible from news and previews to archive videos of previous races.
Newly added to the app is odds comparison from 9 UK bookmakers via oddschecker.com who you can log in and bet with. This is a great addition as you can be sure you are getting the best odds every time you place a bet and is an improvement on the 4 bookies that racing post-offer (see above).
Member services – As a member to racing UK you get to see all UK horse racing on the app, without placing a bet on the race. This is an excellent subscription if you have a notebook of horses that you like to keep an eye on for future bets. You also get access to a database of videos of every race for the last 7 days, so if you’ve missed a race or want to look back on a horse that’s had an unexpected ride then you can check them out.
Security of Betting Apps
Using betting apps is a convenient and simple way for players to enjoy the whole experience of betting. All it takes is the installation of an app and then players are required to input their personal details and bank details so they can make payments and receive winnings straight to their bank account. However, just like purchasing something from an online retailer, a betting app and the company that owns that app have to do all they can to protect you and your details. If they fail to do this then someone could illegally access your details and even fraudulently use your payment details
So, betting companies
have to make sure that they put the correct measures in place to ensure that your details are safe.
What can they do?
Betting apps will come with security features built in and that means that they are encrypted using SSL technology, ensuring that your details remain safe. This stands for Secure Sockets Layer and is a method that is used to deliver secure communication between two points on the internet. Using an online casino means that you need to pass your personal details and personal information to the casino and that means that you will require a secure channel. SSL is one method that is used to transmit your data in an encrypted way and that makes it impossible for anyone to intercept that communication. There are different levels of SSL encryption and commonly, casino security will use 128-bit SSL encryption but there are some apps that will go further than that and some with use 1,024-bit RSA or even encryption using 448-bit Blowfish. Many of these security measures are used by banks and financial institutions but when a betting site uses these exact same levels of security, then you know that they make your security a priority.
In the majority of apps, to ensure that you are aware of activity on your account, the date and time of your last log-in are displayed, alerting you to any fraudulent activity on your account. Not only do the apps have built-in security features but betting providers have to adhere to strict policies and should they fail to do so, they could find themselves hit with a fine.
Another advanced level of security that is being adopted in OTP which is a One Time Password confirmation. So, if you are carrying out a transfer of money through your betting app then a code might be sent to your phone or email address. Only once you have received this code and input it on the payment gateway will it take place. This is something that nobody else will have access to, leaving you to make sure that you don’t share the code with anyone else.
Finally, it is common for players to leave their app open and running in the background and that means should their phone or tablet become lost or stolen, someone might be able to gain access and spend money. So, most sites have an inactivity feature built in where players are logged out if they are inactive for periods of anything from 30 minutes up to 90
